For this job, Curtin Maritime Corp. worked with PCCII Inc. to perform the San Clemente and San Nicholas Island Fuel Terminal Maintenance for the U.S. Navy, which was a project CMC was thrilled to be a part of.

Because this job was contracted to PCCII by the Navy, it involved extensive safety requirements for both vessels/equipment and vessel personnel, which Curtin Maritime was more than happy to comply with. As an ‘A’ rated contractor in Chevron’s CHESM program and a member of the ABS Responsible Carrier Program (see our ‘Safety’ section for more information), our company safety policies are extensive and thorough, which made it easy to integrate our own policies with the policies of the Navy and PCCII, Inc.

CMC’s role in this project was to provide vessel support while offshore and mobilization/demobilization in our Long Beach yard. The vessels involved in this work were our Barge 185-3 and Tug Sarah C—our very own dream team. In addition, we provided diving support and performed repairs and refurbishment on the buoys, hoses, and associated marine hardware for each mooring on both San Clemente and San Nicholas islands.

This job was one that CMC was a great candidate for and ultimately excelled at. From our experience performing similar tasks with Chevron (see our Chevron El Segundo blog), Curtin Maritime Corp. was confident in the abilities of our vessels and crew to perform this work at the highest standard of efficiency, and we employed our core values of integrity and innovation, as always, for the safe and efficient completion of the project.
