400’x100′ Cargo Deck Barge
Lost PT.
Curtin Maritime has developed a proven bin wall configuration used successfully on two other deck barges in the Curtin Maritime fleet. These bin walls are 6’ tall with interspersed access doors and scuppers. The inside dimensions are 360’ x 90’. Removable sections at amidships and across the stern allow loading or unloading of cargoes. The bin walls are corrugated, which stiffens the panel and provides an excellent substrate for adhesion of coating systems.
The ISO container mounts are strategically located to maximize container carrying capacity in 20’, 40’, or even 45’ configurations. Additional deck fittings are aligned to the primary structure to provide lashing points on 10’ centers down the length of the vessel, while also providing a total of eight lanes for rolling stock. The two center lanes are each 12’ wide to accommodate larger vehicles.
A 4.3” thick fibrous, lightweight concrete deck with broom finish is poured inside the bin walls flush with the top surface of the ISO mount deck fittings. This flat surface will protect the steel deck below while providing a flat, drivable substrate for hauling bulk materials. The concrete is separated from the steel deck with a durable epoxy-based coating system.
