CMAP – Curtin Maritime Accelerator Program

CEO Martin Curtin’s thoughts on adding new members to the Curtin Maritime team are simple: “If they’ve got the hearts and the smarts and are willing to put the work in, they can be making six figures, and we can change their lives. The opportunities that exist here don’t exist anywhere else.”

This is thanks in large part to the success of the Curtin Maritime Accelerator Program (CMAP), our one-of-a-kind maritime training program that was developed to serve employees who are interested in a career in the maritime industry.

We nurture growth and strive for excellence. We believe in investing in our people and their development. We respect and value the individual talents of each employee, recognizing that our combined strengths are the key to our success.

Entry-Level Mariner Training

Curtin Maritime is committed to creating an accelerated, respectable, and high-paying career path for our entry-level employees. We take a hands-on, personalized approach to maritime training and career progression, guiding our team to navigate their passions, both on and off the job.

For new employees, CMAP provides the training, experience and tools to help aspiring mariners learn about the maritime industry, craftsmanship, project management and many more life-long skills.

More About CMAP

CMAP begins with the ‘Curtin Heart Check.’ Employees then navigate through a rigorous, self-led training program, taking anywhere from four weeks to six months to complete.

CMAP develops operational readiness and provides employees with an opportunity to build both foundational and advanced skills necessary to become highly-trained maritime professionals for skilled tradespeople including; deckhands, welders, engineers, mates, crane operators, or Captains. CMAP also teaches new Curtin Maritime employees about the ‘Curtin’ way.

Maritime Employment Opportunity

How fast someone advances within Curtin Maritime is up to each individual; our leaders support our people to help each person reach their full potential.

Arturo Terrazzo applied to Curtin after his brother-in-law told him about all of the career opportunities that exist in the industry. Arturo took advantage of CMAP to learn what he needed to get started and is now an Assistant Capital Project Engineer. From his experience in CMAP and all of the support that exists along the way, when talking about his career growth at Curtin, Arturo says: “Curtin gives you a lot of opportunity to build yourself from the bottom to the top”.

Curtin Maritime is currently looking for the next generation of seafaring innovators who are ready to navigate their passions in the maritime industry. Apply to join the team today.
