Brief:
Last spring, Curtin Maritime partnered with Pacific Pile & Marine to transport supplies and equipment to Antarctica to construct a new pier at Palmer Station.
The Karen C is a powerful 4,300 horsepower ocean tug with 132,000 lbs of bollard pull and a double drum Markey tow winch. She proved to be a valuable asset to the team of scientists and researchers, as well as our partner on this project who relied on her to transport supplies and equipment to Antarctica for the construction of a new pier at Palmer Station.
The success of the Pacific Pile & Marine and Curtin partnership will help to advance our understanding of this remote and mysterious region, and their hard work will benefit generations of scientists to come.
Location
