Our premier crane this duty-cycle machine aptly dubbed ‘Mega Crane’, is a marine construction powerhouse! Another incredible in-house modernization by our shipyard design and build team. Mega Crane was designed and built to dig 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Tier-III compliant, ‘Mega’ has dug millions of yards dredging, driven pile, pulled and set pipeline, and proven time and again there’s no marine services job this crawler crane can’t handle.

When we first decided to build a crane to accommodate db185-3 many months of research and case studies went into first finding the right platform to build of off that would suit the demanding needs of the marine construction sector, both offshore and inshore. A true duty cycle machine with large draw works and a heavy built foundation was selected, a Lima 2400b model. Built as a duty cycle dragline machine it was designed to sit in a pit and dig 24/7.

General Information

A custom boom tip was constructed for this LIMA to accommodate the multiple intended uses. With the addition of the two hydraulic winches combined with the boom tip, we have a true 4line machine that can drive pile, dredge and still maintain our lift capability. The 70GPM dual pump hydraulic system has auxiliary ports to accommodate additional hydraulically powered equipment.

Both Barge and crane are outfitted with full sodium lighting for safe 24hr operation. Lights are positioned on the barges for the deck and perimeter illumination and the crane has lights around the entire house as well as multiple gimbal mounted boom lights.
