In 2009, we dug this crane out of the side of a sand quarry in Florida, shipped it out to Long Beach, CA. on 13 trucks, then began the entire rebuild.

• The rebuild was completed in 4 months
• New custom house
• New machinery including a Caterpillar C18 ACERT and all new systems
• New cab with electronic over air controls
• Sheet metal house was replaced with a fabricated steel house
• All the work was done in-house by Curtin Maritime
• Every inch of the crane was disassembled, sandblasted and painted
• All new turning components including bushings, bearings, swing circle house rollers, hook rollers, and stump.

We selected this crane because we could use the robust and proven reliability of a Lima 2400, combined with modern technology to make a digging machine unparalleled by others in its class.

The rebuild was completed in 4 months and involved a new custom house with brand new machinery including a Caterpillar C18 ACERT and all new systems, as well as a new cab with electronic over air controls to lessen the burden of continuous operating for our Leverman.

The sheet metal house was replaced with a fabricated steel house that is more conducive to the marine environment, and quieter for the crews working on the deck around it. All the work was done in-house by Curtin Maritime.
